Purpose-built barebone

The ASRock Rack 1U4L4E-EGS/2T is a 1U rackmount server barebone designed for general-purpose workloads. It accepts a single 4th or 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor in an LGA 4677 socket. No CPU or memory is installed, so integrators choose the exact core count and DDR5 capacity the job demands.

Build and connectivity

A 1+1 platinum 750 W redundant power supply feeds the chassis. Four hot-swap 2.5-inch bays support NVMe, SATA or SAS drives on a passive backplane, while four additional 3.5-inch bays take SATA drives. Expansion comes through one full-height half-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and a single M.2 2280 slot wired for PCIe 3.0 x4. Dual Intel X550-AT2 controllers provide two 10 GbE RJ45 ports, and an ASPEED AST2600 BMC delivers IPMI 2.0 with iKVM and vMedia.

Thermal and power behaviour

The 1U form factor relies on high-speed system fans to move air across the CPU, memory, storage and the PCIe add-in card. Fan speed ramps with inlet temperature and component load, so acoustic output rises under sustained compute or heavy I/O. Power draw tracks the chosen Xeon SKU and the number of populated drive bays; the redundant 750 W units share load and maintain operation if one module fails.
