2U Rackmount Barebone for Dual Xeon

This 2U rackmount barebone supports up to two LGA 3647 Intel Xeon Scalable processors, including second-generation parts. It ships without CPUs or memory, leaving processor selection and memory population entirely to the builder. The Intel C622 chipset provides six memory channels across twenty-four DDR4 2933 slots.

Suited for high-density storage builds.

Twelve front 3.5-inch hot-swap bays on a 12 Gbps passive backplane and four rear 2.5-inch bays on a mixed 12 Gbps and PCIe 3.0 backplane give dense storage capacity; SAS drives need an extra RAID or HBA card. Only two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots are available, so configurations needing multiple accelerators or high-speed NICs should consider other platforms.

Twenty-four DDR4 2933 slots in six channels

The board offers twenty-four 288-pin DIMM sockets organised in six channels per processor, defining the maximum memory capacity and bandwidth available. Populating all channels with matched modules is the single specification that determines whether this chassis meets a given memory footprint.

Questions about this item

How deep is the 2U rackmount chassis so I can confirm it fits my cabinet?

The chassis measures 28.94 inches deep, 17.24 inches wide and 3.43 inches high, so verify your rack has at least that depth with cable clearance.

Which CPU sockets must be populated and in what order for the dual LGA 3647 platform?

Install the first processor in the CPU0 socket before adding a second in CPU1; both sockets use the LGA 3647 package and require matching 2nd Gen or 1st Gen Xeon Scalable CPUs.

When should the 12 Gbps passive backplanes be replaced if drive errors appear?

The front 12-port and rear 4-port backplanes are passive; replace them only if drive diagnostics show persistent link errors after cables and drives are ruled out.
