Product Identity

Astragon 39974 is a downloadable action simulator that puts the player in command of German maritime rescue cruisers. It is delivered as a Steam activation code and requires a Steam account for installation and play. The title is built for Windows Vista, 7 or 8 and for OS X 10.6.8 or higher. Buyers in blocked regions such as RU, IR, KP, SY and others listed in the specifications cannot activate the product.

System Requirements

The Windows version needs a dual-core processor running at 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM and a DirectX 9.0c graphics card with Shader 3.0 support and at least 1 GB VRAM; 1.5 GB VRAM is recommended. Supported cards include the Radeon HD3870 or GeForce 8800GT at minimum, with the HD5870 or GTX470 recommended. The Mac version requires a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM and 2700 MB of storage space. A sound card is also required on Windows.

Build Integration

The download package removes the need for physical media and installs directly through the Steam client. Once activated, the game occupies roughly 2700 MB of drive space and runs on modest hardware, leaving headroom for other applications. It does not support AMD CrossFireX multi-GPU configurations. Players who want multiplayer co-op or extensive modding tools will not find those features in this release.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Steam code for Ship Simulator: Maritime Search and Rescue, and what step do people often miss?

Redeem the code in the Steam client, then download the 2700 MB game files; the step many miss is ensuring the Steam account is not registered in a blocked country such as RU or UA.

What ongoing requirement does this downloadable game have after purchase?

A persistent Steam account and internet connection are required each time you launch the title for licence verification.

Which hardware limit is reached first during extended play sessions?

The 4 GB system memory minimum and 1 GB VRAM floor on a DirectX 9.0c card with Shader 3.0 support will bottleneck performance before other components.
