Smart Keyboard for 12.9in Pro

The Astro Gaming smart keyboard is a 64-key accessory built for the 12.9-inch Pro tablet models released between 2015 and 2017. It serves users who want a full-size typing experience that folds into a slim protective cover for travel. The intelligent design connects through the tablet's smart connector without separate pairing or charging steps. This product is not for buyers who need a keyboard for smaller tablets, other brands or detachable laptop form factors.

Installation and common issues

Installation is a simple matter of aligning the keyboard with the smart connector on the Pro tablet and letting the magnetic attachment hold it in place. No Bluetooth pairing, driver installation or battery charging is required because power and data travel through the connector. What usually goes wrong is debris on the connector pins preventing a reliable link, or attempting to use the keyboard with an unsupported tablet model that lacks the matching smart connector layout.

Before ordering

Confirm that your tablet is the 12.9-inch Pro first or second generation released in the 2015-2017 window, as the keyboard only supports those two models. Check that the smart connector on the tablet edge is clean and undamaged so the keyboard can draw power and transmit keystrokes correctly. Verify you have space for the folded dimensions of approximately 30.6 by 14.7 by 1.2 centimetres if you plan to carry it as a protective sleeve.

Questions about this item

How do I know the smart connector is working after attaching it to my 12.9 inch Pro?

The keyboard pairs instantly through the smart connector; keys register immediately with no pairing code or battery indicator required.

What comes in the box and do I need a separate case for my 12.9 inch Pro?

The keyboard itself is the only item supplied; it folds to 30.6 × 14.7 × 1.2 cm and doubles as a slim protective cover, so no extra case is necessary.

Which version should I choose for a 12.9 inch Pro bought between 2015 and 2017?

This single model supports both the 1st and 2nd generation 12.9 inch Pro, so one version covers the entire 2015–2017 range.
