Astro Gaming 1TB USB 3.2 Drive

The Astro Gaming NR770 is a 1TB flash drive that delivers SSD-class transfer rates over a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A connection. It reads up to 1000MB/s and writes up to 800MB/s, making it suitable for moving large backups, school projects or media libraries quickly.

Suits mobile users, not fixed workstations

The slim, driverless design works immediately on PC, Mac, consoles and car audio systems, so students and commuters can carry it on a keychain without extra cables. Builders who need a permanently installed internal drive or a second high-capacity card should look at a different form factor.

1000MB/s read speed

Sequential read performance reaches 1000MB/s on the USB 3.2 Gen2 interface, which is the single figure that determines whether large file transfers finish in seconds rather than minutes.

Questions about this item

What does the 1000 MB/s read speed mean when I copy files to my laptop?

The 1000 MB/s figure is the peak sequential read rate over USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A. Real-world transfers of large video or backup files will approach that speed; small files and mixed workloads will be slower.

What does USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A cap in practice?

USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A limits the drive to 10 Gbps signalling, so the 1000 MB/s read and 800 MB/s write ceilings cannot be exceeded even on faster ports.

How much space does the drive need to fit in a USB-A port?

The slim thumb-drive body slides into a standard USB-A socket and sits flush, leaving room for adjacent ports on laptops, consoles or car audio systems.
