Compact 97-key gaming keyboard

The ASUS TUF Gaming K3 Gen II is a compact 97-key keyboard built for players who want full arrow and navigation keys in a smaller footprint. Optical-mechanical Red linear switches deliver a smooth keystroke with a 100-million-press lifespan and per-key RGB lighting. A USB 2.0 wired connection keeps latency low without extra software overhead. The IP57 rating protects the internals from dust and accidental spills.

Capacity and headroom

The 96% layout frees desk space for wide mouse sweeps while keeping dedicated function keys F1 through F8 programmable for macros. Optical switches and N-key rollover handle rapid simultaneous inputs without ghosting during competitive play. The silicone gasket mount and dampening foam absorb pinging noises for a cleaner acoustic profile. Builders who need a numpad, dedicated media keys or a palm rest will find those absent here.

Detachable top plate and software

A magnetic detachable top plate allows quick colour swaps and easy cleaning under the switches without tools. ASUS Armoury Crate software provides per-key RGB control across 16.8 million colours and Aura Sync integration with compatible ASUS gear. The box includes the keyboard, a quick start guide and a warranty card. No mouse or palm rest is bundled.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 2.0 connection work with an older motherboard that only has USB 1.1 ports?

The keyboard uses a USB 2.0 interface which is backward compatible with USB 1.1 ports, though it will operate at the lower 1.1 speed.

How can I confirm the per-key RGB lighting and Aura Sync are functioning correctly after plugging it in?

Open the ASUS Armoury Crate software to verify each of the 97 keys displays colour independently and that the device appears in the Aura Sync device list for synchronisation.

Does the package include a palm rest or extra keycaps, or must I buy them separately?

The box contains only the keyboard, a quick start guide, and a warranty card; no palm rest or additional keycaps are included.
