Ultra-Light 55g Gaming Mouse

The ASUS ATTACK SHARK X8PRO is a 55g ultra-lightweight gaming mouse built for competitive play. It features a PixArt PAW3395PRO optical sensor with six adjustable DPI steps up to 40000 and 700 IPS tracking speed. Tri-mode connectivity covers 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB-C wired operation. Sixteen programmable buttons and a 500 mAh rechargeable battery complete the package.

Check USB Port and Software Access

Verify your system has an available USB port for the 2.4GHz receiver or wired connection. The web-based driver requires internet access to configure DPI steps, polling rate, and button mapping. Wireless 8000Hz polling is only active in 2.4GHz mode; wired mode runs at 1000Hz. The mouse measures 125.5 x 63 x 40 mm, so confirm the shape suits your hand size.

For Competitive FPS and MOBA Players

This mouse suits gamers who prioritise minimal weight and high wireless polling rates for fast-paced shooters or MOBAs. The large ergonomic shell supports palm grip during long sessions. Buyers who need a smaller ambidextrous shape or fewer programmable buttons should look elsewhere. The 55g weight may feel too light for users who prefer a heavier, planted feel.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the ASUS ATTACK SHARK X8PRO and do I need to buy a cable separately?

The package includes the 55g mouse and a coiled USB-C cable, so no extra cable purchase is required for wired or 2.4 GHz wireless use.

Should I choose the 40000 DPI setting or one of the lower presets like 1200, 2400, 3200, 5600 or 8000 for everyday gaming?

The sensor offers six fixed presets up to 40000 DPI; most players stay between 1200 and 8000 and use the software to fine-tune in 50-step increments.

What does the 8000 Hz polling rate actually deliver when the mouse is connected wirelessly to my PC?

In 2.4 GHz mode the mouse reports at 8000 Hz, giving 0.125 ms report intervals for noticeably smoother cursor updates compared to standard 1000 Hz wireless.
