ASUS Cobra M711 gaming mouse

The ASUS Cobra M711 is a right-handed gaming mouse built for players who want on-the-fly sensitivity changes and extensive button mapping. It connects through a 2.4 GHz wireless link or a wired USB cable and offers 16 programmable buttons for macros or productivity shortcuts. The adjustable grip style lets each user find a comfortable hold for long sessions. Buyers who need a left-handed shape or a lighter chassis under 100 grams should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power

The optical sensor draws minimal power from the USB port so the mouse stays cool during extended use. No active cooling or moving parts are present therefore operation is silent apart from button clicks. The 2.4 GHz connection and wired mode both run on standard USB power without an external adapter. Users who expect a replaceable battery compartment or a charging dock will not find one on this model.

Build quality and connectors

The shell measures 11.2 cm by 13.4 cm by 16.7 cm and weighs 114 grams giving a solid feel without fatigue. A braided USB cable and a 2.4 GHz dongle provide two reliable connection paths for desktop or laptop use. Five onboard memory profiles each with a distinct RGB colour let you switch lighting and button layouts without software. The 16.8 million colour breathing RGB backlight adds ambient glow but cannot be synchronised with motherboard ecosystems.

Questions about this item

How do I install the ASUS Cobra M711 and which step often causes issues?

Plug the USB dongle into a free port for 2.4 GHz wireless or connect the cable for wired mode; the common mistake is leaving the dongle inside the mouse cavity so the computer never detects it.

What maintenance or replacement will the ASUS Cobra M711 need later?

The PTFE feet will wear down after extended use and should be replaced with fresh skates to keep the 114 gram glide smooth; the optical sensor itself requires only occasional compressed-air cleaning.

What limit appears first during long gaming sessions with the ASUS Cobra M711?

The optical sensor caps out at 100 IPS and 20 G acceleration, so extremely fast swipes beyond those figures will lose tracking before any button or battery limit is reached.
