Rugged Chromebook for education and mobile work

The ASUS CR1104CTA-YZ42 is an 11.6 inch Chromebook built with a rugged chassis for daily classroom or field use. It runs Chrome OS on an Intel N-Series N150 processor with a turbo frequency of 3.60 GHz. The system includes 4GB DDR5 memory and 32GB flash storage. An HD TN panel with 1366 x 768 resolution and 220 nit brightness completes the core specification.

Suits students and frontline workers needing

This device fits users who prioritise a tough, lightweight laptop for web-based tasks, cloud apps and managed deployments. Buyers who need a touchscreen, higher colour accuracy or more local storage for media libraries should look at other models. The 4GB memory and 32GB drive also limit offline multitasking and large file handling.

32GB eMMC storage defines the usage ceiling

The 32GB flash drive is the single specification that decides fit. It supports the operating system and essential apps but leaves little room for offline files, Android apps or Linux containers. Users who store media locally or install many Android apps will hit the capacity limit quickly.

Questions about this item

Will the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports let me keep using my older USB-A mouse and flash drive without an adapter?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports accept standard USB-A plugs directly, so your existing mouse and flash drive will work without any adapter.

How can I confirm the Intel N-Series N150 is reaching its 3.60 GHz turbo frequency after I set up the Chromebook?

Open the Chrome OS task manager with Search + Esc and watch the CPU frequency column while running a demanding web app; it will show the current clock speed up to 3.60 GHz.

Does the box include a USB-C charger and an HDMI cable, or do I need to buy them separately?

The package contains the Chromebook, a lithium polymer battery and an AC adapter; an HDMI cable is not included and must be purchased separately.
