ROG Strix G16 Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with 24 cores and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. It targets players and creators who want high frame rates on a sharp WQXGA panel without moving to a larger chassis.

32 GB DDR5 5600 and 1 TB NVMe SSD

The system ships with 32 GB of DDR5 5600 memory in a 16 GB x 2 configuration that fills both SO-DIMM slots, leaving no room for further RAM expansion. The 1 TB NVMe SSD offers fast load times for modern titles, though heavy install libraries will eventually require external storage or an internal swap.

HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4 Connectivity

Video output runs through one HDMI 2.1 port capable of driving external 4K high-refresh displays, while a single Thunderbolt 4 port handles data, power and additional monitors. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port round out the I/O for peripherals and accessories.

Questions about this item

Will the 32 GB of DDR5 5600 memory be enough for current games, or do I need to add more?

The laptop ships with 32 GB of DDR5 5600 in a 16 GB x 2 configuration and both memory slots are populated, so there is no free slot for additional modules.

Can I connect an external 4K monitor at high refresh rate using the available ports?

Yes, the HDMI 2.1 port supports 4K at high refresh rates, and the Thunderbolt 4 port can also drive external displays with compatible adapters or docks.

Is the 1 TB NVMe SSD the only storage, or can I install a second drive later?

The specifications list a single 1 TB NVMe SSD; no additional M.2 slots or drive bays are mentioned, so internal storage expansion is not confirmed.
