18 WQXDA 240Hz gaming laptop

This 18 inch gaming laptop runs Windows 11 Home on an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 8GB video memory powers the display. 32GB of DDR5 5600 memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD complete the core specification for gamers and creators.

ROG Intelligent Cooling and MUX Switch

ROG Intelligent Cooling manages thermals to keep the system cool and quiet during normal use. A MUX Switch routes frames directly from the dGPU for a 5 to 10 percent performance lift. Advanced Optimus switches between iGPU and dGPU automatically to extend battery life without a restart.

Sustained load behaviour

State-of-the-art cooling is designed to maintain best in class performance under sustained load rather than only in short bursts. The 240Hz ROG Nebula Display with enhanced ACR film delivers consistent visual clarity during extended sessions. Stealth Mode disables all RGB lighting for professional environments when needed.

Questions about this item

Will the 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory be enough for modern games and multitasking?

The system ships with 32 GB of DDR5-5600 in a single module and the manufacturer lists 32 GB as the maximum supported capacity, so no further memory upgrades are possible.

Can the 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD be expanded with a second drive?

The storage specification states one drive up to 1 TB in an M.2 2242 slot, indicating there is no second M.2 socket available for an additional SSD.

Does the 18 inch 240 Hz display support a MUX Switch for direct GPU output?

Yes, a MUX Switch with Advanced Optimus is included, routing frames directly from the RTX 5070 to the screen for higher gaming performance and switching to the iGPU to save battery when appropriate.
