18-inch ROG Strix gaming laptop

The ASUS G835LWG-DB96 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. It targets enthusiasts who want desktop-class frame rates on a single portable device. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed.

32GB DDR5 and 1TB PCIe Gen 4 storage

The system includes 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. That combination handles modern AAA titles, heavy multitasking and large creative projects without paging. The single SSD slot means total capacity tops out at the factory-fitted terabyte unless you swap the drive.

4K 240Hz Mini LED display upgrade

The 18.0-inch panel delivers 3840 x 2400 resolution at 240Hz with Mini LED backlighting and 1600 nits peak HDR brightness. It replaces lower-refresh 1440p or 60Hz 4K screens found on earlier large-format notebooks. The jump is worth it when you need both high pixel density and competitive motion clarity in one panel.

Questions about this item

Does the 18-inch 4K 240Hz Mini LED panel fit in a standard 18-inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 15.71 by 11.73 inches and tapers from .93 to 1.38 inches thick, so check those internal sleeve dimensions before buying.

Will the single HDMI 2.1 FRL port drive an external 4K 240Hz monitor at full refresh?

Yes, HDMI 2.1 FRL supports the bandwidth needed for 4K at 240Hz on a compatible display.

Is the 32GB DDR5-6400 memory soldered or can I add more later?

The 32GB ships in two slots; the board supports up to 64GB total, so you can add a matched kit later.
