ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 V2 OC 8GB

The ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 V2 OC delivers 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a factory-overclocked board. It targets gamers and creators who need strong 1440p performance without moving to a higher tier. The dual-fan cooler keeps thermals in check during extended sessions. This card suits single-GPU builds focused on high-refresh gameplay.

PCI Express 4.0 x16 interface limits

The card connects through a PCI Express 4.0 x16 slot, providing ample bandwidth for modern workloads. Performance will not saturate this link in typical gaming scenarios. Older platforms limited to PCIe 3.0 will see a small reduction in throughput. Builders should verify motherboard support for the full 4.0 specification.

Upgrading from previous 8GB cards

Moving from an earlier 8GB GDDR6 model yields higher clock speeds and refined power delivery. The V2 revision improves boost behaviour and acoustic profile over the original dual-fan design. The jump is worthwhile when frame-time consistency matters more than raw memory capacity. Buyers needing more than 8GB of VRAM should consider a different tier.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the V2 OC 8GB model or a different capacity for this card?

This model is the V2 OC edition with 8GB of GDDR6 memory; no other capacities are offered for this specific part number.

What does the RTX 3070 chipset deliver in an actual build?

The NVIDIA RTX 3070 GPU drives the card's compute performance with 8GB of GDDR6 memory attached.

Does the PCIe 4.0 x16 slot limit bandwidth in a PCIe 3.0 motherboard?

The card uses a PCIe 4.0 x16 interface and will operate at PCIe 3.0 speeds if the motherboard only supports that generation.
