Compact mini-PC with 12-core i5-1240P, 16GB DDR4, 512GB storage, dual 4K HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E
The ASUS NUC 12 Pro barebone integrates a 12-core Intel Core i5-1240P processor with 16GB of dual-channel DDR4-3200 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD. Intel Iris Xe graphics drive two HDMI 2.1 ports at 4K 60Hz plus DisplayPort 1.4a over both Thunderbolt 4 connections. The 35W TDP CPU targets office productivity, digital signage and light content creation in a VESA-mountable chassis. Buyers who need discrete GPU performance or more than 64GB of RAM should look elsewhere.
A 35W base power envelope keeps heat output modest for continuous duty, and the unit is qualified for 24/7 operation. Active cooling manages the performance cores up to 4.4GHz and efficient cores up to 3.3GHz without excessive fan noise in typical office ambient temperatures. The discrete TPM 2.0 module adds hardware security without increasing thermal load. No acoustic or surface-temperature measurements are supplied.
A VESA mounting bracket and a US power cord are included so the mini PC can be secured behind a display or under a desk. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide 40Gbps data, DisplayPort 1.4a video and USB4 compatibility for docks or external storage. Front and rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports plus a 3.5mm headset jack keep peripherals accessible. Internal USB 2.0 headers and an M.2 2242 key B slot allow further expansion.

Open the chassis, insert the 1.2V SODIMM into the dual-channel slots and the 2280 key M drive into the PCIe x4 Gen 4 slot; the step often missed is seating the M.2 screw so the drive lies flat and makes full electrical contact.
The AX211 is soldered to the M.2 2242 key B slot and is not user-replaceable; if wireless performance degrades, add a USB Wi-Fi adapter instead of attempting a module swap.
When the 4 P-cores hold 4.4 GHz or the 8 E-cores hold 3.3 GHz for extended periods, the 35 W power budget is reached and the firmware reduces frequencies to stay within the thermal envelope.
