Ready-to-configure mini PC

The ASUS NUC15CRKU5 is a slim barebone system built around the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H processor with 14 cores and Intel Arc graphics. It targets professionals and enthusiasts who want a compact 0.48L chassis that supports up to four 4K displays and includes Intel vPro for managed environments. Buyers who need discrete graphics cards or larger internal drive bays should look elsewhere.

Tool-less access simplifies upgrades

The chassis opens without tools, exposing two 262-pin SO-DIMM slots for dual-channel DDR5 5600 memory up to 96GB and two M.2 slots — one 2280 and one 2242 — both wired for NVMe PCIe storage. No memory or storage is included, so the first boot requires user-supplied modules; forgetting to seat both DIMMs for dual-channel operation is the most common oversight.

Verify your parts before ordering

Confirm you have DDR5 5600 SO-DIMMs — other DDR generations will not fit — and NVMe SSDs in 2280 or 2242 form factors. The system provides dual HDMI 2.1 ports and Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 2.1 for video, 2.5Gbps LAN, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity, and 7.1-channel audio. Ensure your monitors and cables match the available outputs.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H is running at its 4.90 GHz boost after installing memory and storage?

Enter the BIOS on first boot to confirm the processor is detected with 14 cores and 18M cache, then use Windows Task Manager or Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool to observe the 4.90 GHz turbo frequency under load.

Which DDR5 SO-DIMM modules and M.2 NVMe SSDs do I need to buy separately for this barebone unit?

Purchase two 262-pin DDR5-5600 SO-DIMMs up to 96 GB total for dual-channel operation, plus one M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD and optionally one M.2 2242 PCIe x4 NVMe SSD for the second slot.

Should I choose the single 2280 slot or add a 2242 drive for the second M.2 position?

Use the 2280 slot for your primary high-capacity boot drive; add a 2242 NVMe SSD only if you need a separate data volume, as both slots support PCIe Gen4 x4 speeds.
