GeForce RTX 5080 with 16GB GDDR7 at 30 Gbps, 10752 CUDA cores, PCIe 5.0 x16, HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1a outputs
The ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition is a graphics card built on the Blackwell architecture for enthusiasts and creators who need high frame rates at 4K and beyond. It connects via a PCI Express 5.0 x16 interface and delivers 10752 CUDA cores backed by 16GB of 256-bit GDDR7 memory running at an effective 30 Gbps. The card supports DirectX 12 Ultimate and OpenGL 4.6 for modern API workloads. Four simultaneous displays can be driven through one HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1a outputs at up to 7680 x 4320 resolution.
The card draws power through the PCI Express 5.0 slot and supplementary connectors to feed the overclocked GPU and 30 Gbps memory subsystem. A dual-fan cooler with a vapour chamber base dissipates heat across an aluminium fin stack while a 0 dB stop mode halts the fans during light desktop or media playback. Under sustained gaming load the fans ramp to maintain target temperatures without exceeding the board power limit. Power phases are monitored by an onboard controller that balances current across the VRM for stable operation.
A metal backplate stiffens the PCB and prevents memory hotspots during extended render sessions. The GPU Tweak III utility exposes real-time clock, voltage and fan curves plus a one-click OC Scanner that finds a stable overclock for the 10752 cores. ASUS GPU Guard applies a conformal coating to the circuit board for moisture and dust resistance in humid environments. A magnetic anti-sag bracket is included to keep the card level in vertical mounting orientations.

Align the card with the PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot, press firmly until the retention latch clicks, then connect the required power cables from the PSU to the card's power connectors. The step often missed is attaching all power cables before closing the case.
Periodically remove dust from the heatsink and fans using compressed air to maintain airflow. Check that the 1 x HDMI 2.1b and 3 x DisplayPort 2.1a ports remain free of debris. No user-serviceable parts inside; memory and GPU are not replaceable.
The GPU temperature limit is typically reached first under sustained heavy loads, causing the boost clock to throttle. The 16GB 256-Bit GDDR7 memory at 30 Gbps and 10752 CUDA Cores generate significant heat that the cooling system must dissipate continuously.
