Delivers 16 GB 256-bit GDDR6 on RDNA 4 with 3584 stream processors, 2540 MHz OC boost and PCIe 5.0 for 4K gaming
The ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 is a graphics card built on AMD RDNA 4 architecture for gamers and creators who need high frame rates at 1440p or 4K. It carries 16GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit bus and 3584 stream processors. The OC mode in GPU Tweak III pushes the boost clock to 2540 MHz and the game clock to 2090 MHz.
The card plugs into a PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot, doubling the theoretical throughput of the previous 4.0 generation. To reach that ceiling the motherboard must also implement a 5.0 x16 link; a 4.0 slot will still work but caps the interface at 4.0 speeds. The 20 Gbps memory clock feeds the GPU without saturating the bus in typical gaming loads.
Verify that your power supply has the required 12VHPWR or dual 8-pin connectors for the board’s rated draw. Measure the available clearance in your chassis because the triple-fan cooler extends well beyond a standard dual-slot bracket. Ensure the motherboard’s top PCIe slot is wired for x16 electrical lanes and not shared with M.2 or secondary slots.

The game clock runs up to 2090 MHz during typical gameplay while the boost clock can reach 2540 MHz in OC mode via GPU Tweak III when thermal headroom allows.
It is the peak frequency the GPU can hit under light loads or short bursts; sustained gaming clocks will sit closer to the 2090 MHz game clock depending on cooling and power limits.
The card will operate at PCIe 4.0 x16 speeds on a 4.0 board, which still provides ample bandwidth for the 16 GB GDDR6 frame buffer and 3584 stream processors.
