ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 16GB

The ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 16GB is a graphics card built on AMD RDNA 4 architecture with 3584 stream processors. It connects through a PCI Express 5.0 x16 interface and carries 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus clocked at 20 Gbps. The card targets gamers and creators who need high frame rates at 1440p and playable 4K performance.

Sustained load behaviour with 16GB GDDR6

The 256-bit memory subsystem and 3584 stream processors deliver stable throughput during extended gaming or compute sessions. PCI Express 5.0 x16 bandwidth keeps data flowing to the GPU without bottlenecks when assets exceed onboard memory. DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.6 support ensure compatibility with modern engines under continuous workloads.

Check power and display connections before ordering

Verify your power supply has the required PCIe connectors for a card of this class. Confirm your monitor uses HDMI 2.1b or DisplayPort 2.1a to reach the 7680 x 4320 maximum resolution across up to four displays. Ensure the motherboard provides a full-size PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot for the interface.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the PRIME-RX9070-O16G get when running all day?

The card uses a dual-fan cooler on a 3584 stream-processor GPU with 16GB GDDR6, so sustained loads stay within typical mid-range thermal and acoustic limits.

What power connectors must my supply already have for the PRIME-RX9070-O16G?

The board draws power through a single 12-pin connector, so your PSU needs either a native 12VHPWR cable or a dual 8-pin to 12-pin adapter.

Will the PRIME-RX9070-O16G work in my older PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 slot?

Yes, the PCI Express 5.0 x16 interface is backward compatible and will run at the slot's maximum speed without any configuration.
