Supports Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series CPUs with DDR5 up to 256GB, dual PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, five M.2 sockets, dual USB4 and a built-in 2" OLED display
The ASUS ROG Crosshair 2006 X870E AM5 ATX motherboard targets enthusiasts building high-performance AMD systems. It accepts Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors in the AM5 socket. Four 288-pin DDR5 slots support up to 256GB in dual-channel mode with AMD EXPO profiles and ECC capability. The board also provides 10Gb and 5Gb Ethernet, WiFi 7, two USB4 ports and five M.2 slots.
ATX dimensions fit standard cases and the 24-pin plus dual 8-pin ProCool II power connectors are clearly keyed. The AIO Q-Connector bundles front-panel and pump headers into one plug, reducing cable clutter. Builders must match the CPU generation to the correct PCIe 5.0 or 4.0 x16 slots and verify M.2 keying lengths 2242 2260 2280 22110 before mounting drives. The two-inch OLED display requires a free internal USB header for firmware updates.
The AMD X870E chipset delivers 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes from Ryzen 9000 and 7000 CPUs, enabling two x16 slots that run at x16 or x8/x8 and two CPU-attached M.2 slots at PCIe 5.0 x4. Ryzen 8000 series processors drop the x16 slots to PCIe 4.0 and reduce M.2 speeds accordingly. Two SATA 6Gb/s ports come from the ASM1162 controller and cannot join RAID arrays. Rear I/O tops out at USB4 40Gbps and 10Gb Ethernet throughput.

The OLED panel lights up during POST and shows real-time CPU temperature, fan speeds and error codes; if it stays dark, check the USB 2.0 header connection that powers it.
The box contains the motherboard, I/O shield, AIO Q-Connector, Wi-Fi 7 antennas, SATA cables and manuals; you still need a Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 CPU, DDR5 DIMMs, M.2 SSDs, GPU and PSU.
Any kit on the qualified-vendor list up to DDR5 9600 will run at its rated speed via AMD EXPO; choose a capacity that stays within the 256 GB maximum across the four 288-pin slots.
