High-performance gaming laptop for creators

The ASUS ROG G16 pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU and 32GB DDR5 memory. A 16-inch WQXGA display running at 300Hz gives smooth motion for competitive play and colour-critical work. It suits users who need desktop-class speed in a portable chassis. Not for buyers who want a touchscreen or a smaller ultraportable form factor.

Thermals power and acoustics in daily use

The 16-core CPU reaches a 5.40GHz turbo frequency while the dedicated GPU handles heavy rendering loads. Together they draw significant power under sustained gaming or AI workloads, so fan noise rises noticeably during long sessions. Battery life shortens quickly when both processors run at peak. Light office tasks stay quieter and cooler. Not for users who need silent operation under full load.

Build connectivity and everyday practicality

The black chassis measures 13.58 x .89 x 14.13 inches and weighs 4.19 lbs with a numeric keypad and per-key backlit keyboard. Ports include two USB 3.0 Type-A, two USB Type-C, HDMI, Ethernet and a combo audio jack. Wi-Fi 6 handles wireless networking. The 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD and soldered DDR5 limit future storage and memory upgrades. Not for builders who need user-replaceable RAM or multiple drive bays.

Questions about this item

How is the DDR5 SODIMM RAM installed and which step do people often miss?

The laptop supports up to 64 GB DDR5 SODIMM; the step often missed is seating both modules fully until the retention clips click on each side.

What maintenance or replacement will the 1 TB PCIe M.2 SSD need later?

The SSD is user-replaceable; plan to swap it for a larger PCIe M.2 drive when capacity runs low, no other scheduled maintenance is required.

What limit appears first on the 300 Hz WQXGA panel during sustained gaming?

The 300 Hz refresh rate caps frame delivery before the 2560 x 1600 resolution becomes the bottleneck in extended sessions.
