ASUS ROG GR701 Gaming Desktop

The ASUS ROG GR701 is a liquid-cooled gaming desktop built around an 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X processor running at 3.8GHz. It ships with Windows 11 Home, 64GB of DDR5 memory and a Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card with 16GB of GDDR6 video memory. The 360mm liquid cooler keeps thermals in check during extended sessions.

Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB GDDR6

The single specification that decides fit is the Radeon RX 7800 XT with 16GB of GDDR6 memory. This GPU targets 1440p high-refresh gaming and entry-level 4K workloads. Buyers who need more video memory for heavy 4K texture packs or professional compute should look elsewhere.

4TB NVMe plus 2TB HDD storage

The 4TB NVMe SSD provides fast boot, application and game loading with ample room for a large active library. The additional 2TB hard drive adds bulk capacity for media, backups and less-frequently accessed files. Users planning extensive 4K capture archives or massive mod collections will eventually need external or network storage.

Questions about this item

How does the Ryzen 7 9700X 3.8GHz 8-core processor perform inside this GR701 desktop?

The 8-core CPU runs at 3.8 GHz base clock and is cooled by a 360 mm liquid loop, so it can sustain high frequencies during long gaming or rendering sessions without thermal throttling.

What does the 2.5G Ethernet port actually deliver compared to standard gigabit?

It supports up to 2.5 Gbps wired throughput, so large game downloads, NAS transfers and low-latency streaming run faster than on a 1 Gbps link, provided your router and cables also support the higher rate.

Will the 360 mm liquid cooler and RX 7800 XT graphics card fit in the GR701 case without clearance issues?

Yes, the GR701 chassis is designed around a 360 mm radiator and full-length graphics cards, so the factory-installed cooler and 7800 XT 16 GB GDDR6 GPU mount securely with no interference.
