AM5 motherboard and 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU combo with 128 MB L3 cache, DDR5 support, PCIe 5.0 M.2, WiFi 6E and 2.5G LAN
Motherboard ROG Strix B650-A Gaming WiFi
CPU + R9 9950X3D
This motherboard and CPU pair targets enthusiasts who need high thread counts on the AM5 platform. The board uses the AMD B650 chipset and ships with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor already included. Four DDR5 slots support up to 128GB of memory with EXPO profiles. The combination suits workstations and gaming rigs that demand sustained multi-core throughput.
The board employs 12 + 2 power stages fed by 8 + 4 pin ProCool connectors with alloy chokes and durable capacitors. Massive VRM heatsinks with cut airflow channels and high conductivity thermal pads dissipate heat during prolonged all-core workloads. This design keeps voltage regulation stable when the 170W processor runs heavy compute tasks for extended periods.
Three M.2 slots each carry a heatsink, with the top slot running at PCIe 5.0 x4 and two others at PCIe 4.0 x4. Rear I/O provides one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port, eight additional USB ports, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. Networking uses on-board WiFi 6E and Intel 2.5G Ethernet with LANGuard. The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 SafeSlot secures heavy graphics cards.

Other versions of this model
The CPU is rated at 170W TDP. The board uses 12 + 2 power stages with 8 + 4 pin ProCool connectors, massive VRM heatsinks, cut airflow channels and high-conductivity thermal pads to move that heat away from the socket.
You need a DDR5 kit that supports AMD EXPO profiles; the board has four 288-pin slots, dual-channel topology, OptiMem II layout and validates speeds up to 6400+(OC) with compatible modules.
The second M.2 slot runs PCIe 4.0 x4 from the CPU. The chipset x16 slot shares bandwidth only with the third M.2 slot, so the second slot keeps full x4 speed regardless of what occupies the chipset slot.
