Built for competitive play

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with 24 cores and a 5.4 GHz turbo frequency. It targets players who need high frame rates in fast-paced titles and creators who render or compile on the move. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 licence ship pre-installed.

240 Hz 2.5K panel decides fit

The 16.0-inch display runs at 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate, making it the single spec that determines whether the machine matches your workflow. If you need that combination of sharpness and motion clarity for esports or colour-critical work, the screen fits; if you prefer higher resolution or lower refresh, it does not.

Opened for upgrades before shipping

The factory seal is broken by engineers to install the 32 GB DDR5 memory and 2 TB PCIe SSD, then the unit is tested for defects. Buyers receive a laptop that has already been opened, so the original packaging shows handling marks. No user-side disassembly is required unless further storage changes are planned later.

Questions about this item

How does the 5.4 GHz turbo frequency of the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX behave once the laptop is under sustained load?

The 5.4 GHz turbo is the maximum single-core speed; under heavy multi-core workloads the 24-core processor will run at lower clocks to stay within thermal limits, so sustained speeds depend on the cooling solution.

What does the Thunderbolt 5 interface actually cap in real-world use on this machine?

Thunderbolt 5 supports up to 80 Gbps bi-directional bandwidth and can drive high-resolution external displays or fast storage, limited by the connected device and cable quality.

What are the exact dimensions I need to check for a backpack or sleeve fit?

The chassis measures 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.9 inches and weighs 5.7 pounds, so any bag must accommodate at least that footprint and thickness.
