Performance Core

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a 16 inch gaming laptop built around a 24 core Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor that reaches 5.4 GHz. It targets users who want high frame rates on a 2.5K 240Hz panel while running creative workloads on 32GB DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD.

Thermals Power

The chassis measures 13.94 by 10.55 by 0.9 inches and weighs 5.84 pounds, providing room for airflow around the RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 graphics and the 24 thread CPU. In typical sessions the cooling system manages heat from both the 36MB cache processor and the GPU without excessive fan noise.

Connectivity Build

A Thunderbolt 4 port, HDMI 2.1, one USB-C 3.2 and three USB-A 3.2 ports sit alongside an RJ45 LAN jack for wired networks. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless links while the Eclipse Gray aluminium lid and anti glare IPS-level screen with 100% DCI-P3 cover daily transport and desk use.

Questions about this item

How is the 4TB PCIe SSD installed, and what step do people miss?

The laptop arrives with the factory seal opened by engineers who fit the 4TB PCIe SSD and 32GB DDR5 before shipping, so the drive is already seated and the OS is pre-loaded on it.

What maintenance or replacement will the RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 need later?

The GPU is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be swapped; only driver updates and occasional thermal-paste refresh by a technician are possible.

What limit appears first during sustained load on the 24-core 2.70GHz CPU?

The 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX hits its thermal ceiling before the 5.4 GHz turbo can be held, so clock speeds throttle to manage heat.
