ROG Strix G16 G614PR gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614PR is a 16 inch Windows 11 Pro laptop built for high-end gaming and content creation. It pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070TI graphics card carrying 12 GB GDDR7 video memory. The system ships with 64 GB DDR5 5600 MHz dual-channel RAM and a 4 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD array.

Build integration and expandability

The chassis measures 13.94 by 10.39 by 0.89 to 1.20 inches and weighs 5.51 lbs, fitting standard 16 inch laptop bags and sleeves. Two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots are populated with 2 TB drives each, leaving no free NVMe bays for internal storage expansion. Two SO-DIMM slots hold the factory 32 GB modules, so memory upgrades require module replacement. The 165 Hz IPS-level WUXGA panel delivers 2560 x 1600 resolution for fast visual feedback.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU to lower junction temperatures under sustained load. The liquid metal and high-conductivity paste combination reduces fan speed requirements during typical gaming sessions. The 5.2 GHz max turbo frequency on the 8940HX is maintained with less acoustic output than stock paste configurations. Power draw scales with the 160 W class GPU and 16 core CPU under full utilisation.
