16″ 2.5K 240 Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with 24 cores and a 5.4 GHz turbo frequency. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU carrying 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory. A 16.0″ IPS-level panel delivers 2560 x 1600 resolution at 240 Hz with 100 % DCI-P3 coverage and a 3 ms response time. The system includes 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD, running Windows 11 Pro.

Connectivity and ports for creators and competitors

Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, one USB-C 3.2 port and three USB-A 3.2 ports give flexible peripheral and display options, while an RJ45 LAN port, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wired and wireless networking. The 16:10 anti-glare screen suits content creators who need accurate colour, and the high refresh rate serves competitive players. Buyers who need an SD card reader or a fingerprint reader should look at other models, as neither is present.

8 GB GDDR7 on the RTX 5070

The single specification that decides suitability is the 8 GB GDDR7 frame buffer on the GeForce RTX 5070. It determines the texture and resolution headroom available in modern titles and professional GPU workloads. If your workflow or game library regularly exceeds 8 GB of video memory, a laptop with a larger GPU allocation will be required.
