Built for competitive play

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 pairs a 16" 2.5K 240Hz panel with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor and an RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 GPU. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR5 and a 4TB PCIe SSD give creators and high-refresh gamers the bandwidth and capacity for large project files and modern title installs. Windows 11 Pro ships pre-installed.

Ports that keep the desk clear

One HDMI 2.1 output drives an external 4K high-refresh monitor while Thunderbolt 4 adds a second display pipeline and fast peripheral bandwidth. Three USB-A 3.2 ports and one USB-C 3.2 handle mice, keyboards and storage without a hub. RJ45 LAN and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 cover both wired and wireless backbone needs.

Thermal headroom for long sessions

The 24-core CPU sustains 5.4 GHz turbo across extended renders and the RTX 5070 holds boost clocks through marathon gaming thanks to the ROG cooling architecture. A 3 ms IPS-level response time keeps motion sharp when frame rates stay high for hours. The 100% DCI-P3 panel maintains colour accuracy without thermal throttle-induced dimming.

Questions about this item

How long can the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX hold its 5.4 GHz turbo before thermal limits cut it back?

The 24-core processor runs at 2.7 GHz base and can reach 5.4 GHz turbo, but sustained clocks depend on the ROG cooling solution and workload; prolonged heavy tasks will trigger thermal management to protect the chip.

What are the fan noise and surface temperatures during an all-day gaming session?

The 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.9 inch chassis houses a vapor-chamber cooler; under continuous load the fans ramp to audible levels and the keyboard deck warms noticeably, though core temperatures stay within spec.

Does the laptop include a Thunderbolt 4 cable and external GPU dock for the RTX 5070?

The system provides one Thunderbolt 4 port and an HDMI 2.1 output, but no Thunderbolt cable or eGPU enclosure is bundled; both must be purchased separately.
