16" FHD+ 165Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU carrying 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The system ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD running Windows 11 Pro.

FHD+ 165Hz display limits

The 1920 x 1200 panel refreshes at 165Hz, so the practical ceiling for visible frame rates sits at 165 frames per second. HDMI output is available for external monitors, but the laptop’s own screen cannot show more than its native refresh rate. Adaptive sync behaviour depends on the GPU driver and the external display used.

Ports and connectivity check

Verify that your peripherals match the three Superspeed USB Type-A ports, two Superspeed USB Type-C ports, one HDMI port, one RJ-45 jack and the combo audio socket. The laptop uses Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth for wireless links. Confirm your network hardware supports Wi-Fi 7 to use the latest standard.
