16-inch FHD+ 165Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 pairs a 16-core Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU and 64GB of DDR5 memory. A 2TB PCIe SSD provides fast storage for large game libraries. The 16-inch display runs at 1920 x 1200 resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 Pro and an Office 2024 license are pre-installed.

Sustained load behaviour

ROG Intelligent Cooling manages thermals during extended sessions so the 16-core CPU can hold high frequencies longer. The 8GB GDDR7 video memory on the RTX 5060 feeds the GPU without bottlenecking texture streaming. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth keep network latency low while the chassis dissipates heat across its internal layout.

8GB GDDR7 video memory

The RTX 5060 ships with 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, which determines the texture resolution and frame-buffer headroom available in modern titles. If your workflow or favourite games demand more than 8GB of video memory, this configuration will limit performance regardless of the system RAM or CPU speed.

Questions about this item

Will the 16-inch chassis fit in a standard 15.6-inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.9 inches, so a sleeve sized for a 15.6-inch device may be too tight; choose a 16-inch or larger sleeve for proper fit.

Does the laptop come with the Windows 11 Pro licence and Office 2024 ready to use?

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and an Office 2024 licence is included, so both are ready after the initial setup.

Can I add more storage later without removing the factory 2TB drive?

The supplier data lists only the single 2TB PCIe SSD; no second M.2 slot or 2.5-inch bay is mentioned, so internal expansion is not confirmed.
