Ready-to-game laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a 16-inch Windows 11 Pro laptop built around an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU carries 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. A 165Hz FHD+ panel completes the core specification.

Stepping up from mid-range configurations

This model replaces machines limited to 8-core CPUs, 16GB of RAM or 1TB drives. The jump is worth it when workloads need 24 threads at up to 5.2 GHz, 30MB of L3 cache and a GPU with GDDR7 memory for modern titles and creative apps. The 4TB SSD removes the usual storage ceiling in a single device.

Build integration

The chassis measures 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.9 inches and weighs 5.83 pounds. Connectivity includes three Superspeed USB Type-A ports, two Superspeed USB Type-C ports, HDMI, RJ-45 and a headset jack. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth handle wireless links. An RGB backlit keyboard and ROG Intelligent Cooling are integrated.

Questions about this item

Will the 165Hz panel keep up with the RTX 5060 in competitive shooters?

The 16 inch FHD+ display runs at 165Hz, matching high frame output from the 8GB GDDR7 GPU in fast titles.

Can the 4TB PCIe drive be expanded later?

The laptop ships with a single 4TB PCIe SSD; any further storage would require replacing that drive or using external solutions.

Does the 32GB DDR5 kit leave a slot free for future upgrades?

The 32GB memory is installed as a single kit; no spare SO-DIMM slot is mentioned, so capacity is fixed at 32GB.
