For competitive play and content creation

The high refresh panel and 16 core CPU suit fast multiplayer titles and multi-threaded workloads such as video editing. Buyers needing a lighter chassis or longer unplugged runtime should consider smaller alternatives.

RGB keyboard and 90 WHr battery

The per-key RGB keyboard adds personalisation for low-light sessions while the 90 WHr battery supports extended mobile use. A 280W power supply and WiFi 6E with Bluetooth 5.4 complete the connectivity package.

Questions about this item

Does the ASUS ROG Strix G18 need any extra power brick beyond the 280W PSU already in the box?

The 280W PSU included with the laptop provides all the power the Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5070 need; no additional adapter is required.

If I keep my older 60 Hz external monitor, will the HDMI output on this laptop drive it without issues?

Yes, the HDMI port will drive a 60 Hz monitor at its native resolution while the built-in 18" 240 Hz panel runs independently at 2560x1600.

How can I verify the 240 Hz refresh rate is actually active after I set up Windows 11?

Open Settings > System > Display > Advanced display and confirm the refresh rate dropdown shows 240 Hz for the internal 18.0" panel.
