18-inch WQXGA 240Hz Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around a 2560 x 1600 IPS-level display running at 240 Hz. It ships with Windows 11 Home and an Eclipse Gray chassis measuring 15.71 x 11.57 x 0.91 to 1.21 inches. The system is prepared by an authorised ASUS build-to-order dealer who applies premium thermal compounds and runs full stress tests before dispatch.

Who This Configuration Suits

This machine targets users who need desktop-class multi-thread throughput and large local storage in a portable form factor. The 16-core Ryzen 9 9955HX and 128 GB of DDR5-5600 handle heavy rendering, compilation and virtualisation workloads. Buyers who prioritise thin-and-light mobility or battery longevity over raw compute density should evaluate smaller alternatives.

16 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe Storage Decides Fit

The defining specification is the 16 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe array configured as two 8 TB modules. That capacity removes the need for external drives when working with massive game libraries, raw footage or large datasets. If your active dataset fits comfortably on a smaller drive, the extra terabytes may not justify the cost.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the G814FP get when the Ryzen 9 9955HX and RTX 5070 run at full load for hours?

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU, replacing stock paste to lower peak temperatures and reduce fan noise during sustained workloads.

What must I already own to use the 18 inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz panel and the 128 GB DDR5 5600 memory out of the box?

Nothing extra is required; the laptop ships with Windows 11 Home installed, the display and memory are built in, and the 16 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage is ready to boot.

Can I keep using my older USB-A peripherals and external 1080p monitors alongside this machine?

The chassis includes legacy USB-A ports and an HDMI output, so existing mice, keyboards, drives and 1080p displays connect directly without adapters.
