ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP Gaming Laptop

This 18-inch gaming laptop pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. It features a WQXGA IPS-level display running at 240Hz. The system includes 128GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed.

Suited for high-core-count workloads

The 16-core CPU with 32 threads handles heavy multitasking and content creation. The 240Hz panel benefits fast-paced titles. Buyers needing a lighter chassis or longer unplugged runtime should consider smaller alternatives.

128GB DDR5 5600MHz memory configuration

The dual-channel kit uses two 64GB modules installed by the system integrator. This capacity supports memory-intensive applications and virtual machines. Verify your workload fits this fixed amount before purchase.

Questions about this item

What power source is required to run the Ryzen 9 9955HX and RTX 5070 in this laptop?

The system ships with a Windows 11 Pro installation and an internal battery; the external AC adapter included in the box supplies all power needed for the 16-core CPU and 8 GB GDDR7 GPU.

Will an external 60 Hz monitor limit the 240 Hz WQXGA panel when both are connected?

The internal 18-inch 2560 x 1600 display runs at 240 Hz independently; an external 60 Hz screen operates at its own refresh rate without forcing the built-in panel down.

How can I verify the 128 GB DDR5 5600 MHz memory is running in dual-channel mode after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, click Memory and confirm "Slots used: 2 of 2" and a speed reading of 5600 MHz.
