18-inch WQXGA 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP pairs an 18.0" 2560 x 1600 IPS-level panel at 240 Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics with 8 GB GDDR7. It ships with 32 GB DDR5 5600 MHz memory in dual-channel configuration and 8 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across two 4 TB drives. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on the Eclipse Gray chassis.

Sustained load with dual liquid-metal-grade TIMs

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU before a full burn-in stress test that verifies thermal stability. The 16-core Ryzen 9 9955HX reaches a 5.4 GHz max turbo frequency while the RTX 5070 maintains its 8 GB GDDR7 frame buffer under continuous gaming or rendering workloads. The 240 Hz WQXGA display keeps motion sharp throughout extended sessions.

Pre-built with validated upgrades

The laptop arrives fully assembled with both thermal compounds applied, the latest stable BIOS and drivers installed, and every port, keyboard key, touchpad and display panel verified. No end-user disassembly is required to enable the 8 TB RAID-capable storage array or the 32 GB DDR5 kit. The 15.71 x 11.57 x 0.91~1.21 inch form factor and 6.61 lb weight demand a suitably large backpack or sleeve for transport.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Ryzen 9 9955HX run during all-day loads with the Gelid GC Extreme on the RTX 5070?

The build applies Gelid GC Extreme thermal compound on the RTX 5070 GPU alongside Conductonaut on the CPU to lower temperatures under sustained workloads.

What must I already own to use the 8 TB PCIe 4.0 storage and 32 GB DDR5 5600 memory immediately?

The 8 TB NVMe SSD and 32 GB DDR5 RAM are factory-installed; no extra parts are required for them to function.

Will my older USB-A peripherals and HDMI monitor work with the G814FP chassis?

The laptop includes standard USB-A ports and an HDMI output, so legacy devices connect directly.
