18-inch WQXGA 240Hz Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory in dual-channel configuration and 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across two 2 TB drives. The 18.0-inch IPS-level display runs at 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate.

Best for high-refresh competitive play

The 240 Hz panel and 16-core CPU suit gamers who want smooth motion in fast titles and creators who run memory-hungry workloads. The 6.61 lb chassis and 0.91–1.21 inch profile make it less practical for frequent travel or cramped workspaces. Buyers needing longer unplugged runtime or a smaller footprint should consider more portable alternatives.

240 Hz WQXGA panel decides fit

The 18.0-inch 2560 x 1600 screen at 240 Hz is the single spec that determines whether this laptop matches the user’s needs. It delivers high pixel density and very fast refresh for competitive gaming and detailed content work. If the workflow does not benefit from that combination of resolution and speed, a different display specification would be more appropriate.

Which configuration of the G814FP should I choose?

This model is a single SKU: Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core, 64 GB DDR5 5600 MHz, dual 2 TB NVMe SSDs, RTX 5070 8 GB GDDR7 and 18" 2560×1600 240 Hz panel.
