18-inch WQXGA 240Hz gaming laptop

This ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP pairs an 18.0 inch WQXGA IPS-level panel at 240Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics with 8GB GDDR7. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets users who need high refresh-rate visuals and multi-threaded compute in a single mobile chassis.

Eclipse Gray chassis with upgraded thermal interface

The 15.71 by 11.57 by 0.91 to 1.21 inch Eclipse Gray body weighs 6.61 lbs and houses Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU plus Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU applied by the builder. These materials lower component temperatures under sustained load without changing the external port layout or mounting points.

96GB DDR5 and 4TB PCIe 4.0 storage installed

HIDevolution installs 96GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory as two 48GB modules in dual channel and a 4TB array built from two 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs. The builder also flashes the latest stable BIOS and drivers, runs burn-in stress tests, and verifies every port, keyboard, touchpad and display before shipment.

Questions about this item

Does the 18" WQXGA 240Hz panel use a standard internal interface that caps the refresh rate?

The 18.0" 2560 x 1600 IPS-level display runs at 240Hz through the laptop's internal eDP connection; no external standard limits the refresh rate.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and weight for checking bag fit or desk clearance?

The laptop measures 15.71" wide, 11.57" deep and 0.91" to 1.21" high, weighing 6.61 lbs.

How is the factory-installed 96GB DDR5 5600 memory configured, and what slot mistake do buyers make?

It ships as 2 x 48GB modules in dual-channel; the error is adding a third stick instead of replacing the pair for a capacity upgrade.
