18-inch WQXGA 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP-WS96 is an 18-inch gaming laptop with a WQXGA IPS-level display running at 240Hz. It is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 video memory. The system includes 96GB of DDR5 memory and 16TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage.

Suited for high-refresh competitive play

The 240Hz panel and 16-core CPU suit gamers who want smooth motion in fast titles and creators who run memory-hungry workloads. The 96GB DDR5 capacity and dual 8TB NVMe drives support large asset libraries and virtual machines. Buyers needing a lighter chassis or longer unplugged runtime should look at smaller ultraportables.

Factory-upgraded thermal compound and storage

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU before shipment, so no user repaste is required. The 16TB NVMe array arrives configured in a dual-drive layout with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and validated. The only common issue is the 6.61 lb weight and 1.21 inch maximum thickness, which demand a spacious backpack.

Questions about this item

What power adapter must I already own for the ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP-WS96 to charge?

The laptop ships with its own power adapter so no separate charger is required.

Will my existing DDR5 5600MHz SO-DIMM kits run alongside the 96GB (2 x 48GB) already installed?

Both memory slots are occupied by the factory 96GB kit so there is no room to add your own modules.

How can I confirm the 18" WQXGA panel is running at its native 240Hz refresh rate?

Open Windows Display Settings, select the internal screen, and verify the refresh-rate dropdown shows 240Hz.
