ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814PH-ES94-HID13

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814PH-ES94-HID13 is an 18" gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics with 8 GB GDDR7 video memory. It ships with Windows 11 Home, 64 GB of DDR5 5600MHz dual-channel memory and 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across two 2 TB drives. HIDevolution applies Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU and Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU for lower thermal resistance.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This machine targets users who need desktop-class multi-thread performance and high-capacity fast storage in a single chassis, such as content creators, engineers and enthusiasts running virtual machines or large datasets. The 18.0" 1920 x 1200 144Hz IPS-level panel favors workflow over ultra-high refresh competition. Buyers prioritising maximum portability, battery longevity or a smaller footprint should consider lighter alternatives.

The specification that decides fit

The 16-core Ryzen 9 8940HX with a 5.2 GHz max turbo frequency and 64 MB L3 cache determines whether this laptop handles your heaviest compute loads without throttling, supported by the custom thermal interface upgrades.

Questions about this item

Will the 18 inch WUXGA display fit on my standard desk?

The chassis measures 15.71 inches wide by 11.57 inches deep, so measure your desk space against those dimensions to confirm fit.

Can the installed 64 GB of DDR5 memory be expanded later?

The system ships with two 32 GB modules occupying both SO-DIMM slots, so further expansion requires replacing the existing kits.

Does the RTX 5050 graphics card require an external power brick beyond the included adapter?

The GPU draws power through the laptop's internal power delivery system; no separate external brick is needed for the graphics card.
