18-inch WUXGA 144Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814PH-ES94-HID19 is an 18-inch Windows 11 Home gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card carrying 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory. The 1920 x 1200 IPS-level display runs at 144 Hz for smooth motion in fast titles.

96 GB DDR5 5600 MHz memory

The system ships with 96 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz dual-channel memory installed as two 48 GB modules, giving headroom for heavy multitasking and memory-hungry applications. Storage consists of two 4 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs totalling 8 TB, providing rapid boot and load times without occupying a 2.5-inch bay. The laptop uses its integrated keyboard, touchpad and 18.0-inch screen, so no external peripherals are required for immediate use.

Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on CPU

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU to lower core temperatures under sustained load. The 15.71 x 11.57 x 0.91-1.21 inch chassis weighing 6.61 lbs houses the cooling solution needed for the 5.2 GHz max turbo frequency. In normal gaming use the upgraded thermal interface materials help keep fan speeds and noise levels lower than a stock configuration would allow.

Questions about this item

Does the 18" chassis fit in a standard 15" laptop bag?

The laptop measures 15.71" wide by 11.57" deep and stands 0.91" to 1.21" high. A bag rated for 15" devices will usually be too small; look for an 18" or larger sleeve.

Is the 96 GB of memory upgradeable?

The system ships with 96 GB installed as two 48 GB DDR5 5600MHz modules running in dual channel. No spare slots are mentioned, so further expansion is unlikely.

What display resolution does the 144Hz panel provide?

The 18" IPS-level screen runs at 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) with a 144Hz refresh rate.
