18-inch 2.5k 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 pairs an 18.0-inch QHD IPS panel running at 240Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB graphics. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD complete a platform built for competitive play and content creation. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed.

Check power, ports and wireless before ordering

The chassis includes two USB-A 3.2 ports, one USB 4 Type-C connector, one HDMI 2.1 FRL output and a single RJ45 Ethernet jack. Wireless connectivity relies on Wi-Fi6E and Bluetooth. Verify that your dock, monitor and network gear match these interfaces and that the supplied adapter meets the system's demand.

Sustained-load thermal behaviour

The 15.71 by 11.57 by 1.21 inch frame houses a 6.61-pound cooling assembly designed to dissipate heat from the 5.4 GHz max turbo processor and discrete GPU during extended sessions. Fan curves ramp gradually to keep surface temperatures stable while maintaining clock speeds for rendering, compilation or long matches. Acoustic output rises with load but remains consistent once thermal equilibrium is reached.

Questions about this item

Will the 18 inch 2.5k 240Hz IPS panel fit in a standard 18 inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 15.71 by 11.57 by 1.21 inches so a sleeve sized for an 18 inch laptop with a little depth allowance will accommodate it.

Can the 32GB DDR5 memory be expanded later or is it soldered?

The supplier opens the original seal for professional upgrades, which means the memory slots are accessible for future expansion.

What external displays can I drive through the HDMI 2.1 FRL and USB4 ports?

HDMI 2.1 FRL supports 4k at high refresh rates and the USB4 port can drive an additional display or dock with a single cable.
