18-inch 2.5k 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 combines an 18.0" 2560 x 1600 IPS panel at 240 Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB graphics. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD complete the core specification for high-refresh competitive play and content creation.

HDMI 2.1 FRL and USB 4 connectivity limits

A single HDMI 2.1 FRL port drives external displays up to the panel's native 2560 x 1600 at 240 Hz without compression. The USB 4 port carries data, video and power on one cable, while two USB-A 3.2 ports handle legacy peripherals. Wi-Fi6E and RJ45 Ethernet give wired and wireless network options with no additional adapters required.

Aluminium chassis with per-key RGB

The black aluminium lid and deck resist flex during transport at 6.61 pounds and 1.21 inches thick. Four-zone RGB backlighting illuminates the keyboard for low-light sessions. All video and high-speed data ports sit on the left and rear edges, keeping cables clear of the mouse hand during extended use.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32 GB DDR5 and 1 TB PCIe SSD configuration or look for a larger capacity?

The laptop ships with 32 GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. Both are soldered or single-slot designs that cannot be expanded after purchase, so choose this configuration only if the capacity meets your long-term needs.

How does the Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor at 5.4 GHz turbo perform inside the 18-inch chassis?

The 16-core Ryzen 9 9955HX reaches 5.4 GHz turbo within the 18-inch chassis, and the larger vapour-chamber cooling keeps clocks high during extended gaming or rendering sessions.

What does the USB 4 port and HDMI 2.1 FRL connection actually allow me to plug in?

The single USB 4 port supports 40 Gbps data, DisplayPort alt-mode and power delivery, while the HDMI 2.1 FRL output drives an external 4K 240 Hz or 8K 60 Hz display without compression.
