18-inch 240 Hz WQXGA gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 pairs an 18-inch 2560x1600 display running at 240 Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics. It targets gamers and creators who want a large, high-refresh panel in a portable chassis. The system ships with Windows 11 Home pre-installed.

32 GB DDR5 and 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD

The laptop includes 32 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. These components provide ample capacity for modern titles and multitasking workloads without requiring immediate upgrades. A per-key RGB keyboard and 1080p webcam are also integrated.

WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity

Wireless networking uses 802.11ax WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 for low-latency connections to routers and peripherals. A single HDMI output and a headphone/microphone combo jack handle external displays and audio. The 90 Whr battery and 280 W power adapter set the practical limits for untethered runtime.

Questions about this item

Is the 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM memory user-upgradable or soldered?

The 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM modules are socketed, so they can be removed and replaced with higher-capacity sticks if the chassis allows access.

Which component hits its thermal or power ceiling first during extended gaming on the RTX 5070 8 GB GDDR7?

The 280 W power supply and shared cooling for the Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5070 typically make GPU power the first limit under sustained load.

How loud do the fans get and what surface temperatures appear after hours of 240 Hz gameplay?

Under continuous 240 Hz gaming the dual-fan system spins up to an audible but not extreme level, while the keyboard deck and underside become warm to the touch.
