18-inch 240 Hz WQXGA gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an 18.0-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads boosting to 5.3 GHz. It pairs the CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card carrying 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. The system includes 32 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD, running Windows 11 Pro on a 2560x1600 display.

Suits competitive gamers

This configuration suits users who want a large 240 Hz panel for fast-paced gaming and colour-accurate creative work in a single device. The 16-core processor and dedicated RTX 5070 handle modern titles and GPU-accelerated workflows. Buyers who prioritise maximum portability or all-day battery life away from mains power should look at lighter ultraportable alternatives instead.

240 Hz 2560x1600 panel drives the purchase decision

The defining specification is the 18-inch WQXGA display running at 240 Hz, which delivers both high resolution and esports-grade motion clarity. If your workflow or gaming benefit depends on that refresh rate at this resolution, the laptop matches the requirement. If a lower refresh rate or smaller screen meets your needs, other models may offer better value or battery endurance.
