18-inch FHD+ 144Hz gaming laptop

This ASUS ROG Strix G18 combines an 18.0-inch 1920 x 1200 display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-core processor runs at 2.40GHz base and 5.3GHz turbo. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR7 handles graphics. The system ships with 64GB DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD.

Best for high-refresh 1080p play

The 16-core CPU and 64GB RAM suit streamers, content creators and users running virtual machines. Competitive players gain from the 144Hz panel and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. Buyers needing a smaller chassis, longer battery life or a higher-resolution screen should consider other models.

4TB PCIe SSD decides storage capacity

The single 4TB PCIe drive holds the operating system, large game libraries and project files without extra drives. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 licence are pre-installed. If your workflow demands more than 4TB of fast internal storage, this configuration will not suffice.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the 18.0 inch ROG Strix G18 chassis?

The laptop measures 15.71 x 11.57 x 0.91 inches and weighs 6.61 pounds, so verify your bag or sleeve fits those external measurements before buying.

How do I install Windows 11 on the 4TB PCIe SSD, and what step is often missed?

The 4TB PCIe SSD ships with Windows 11 Home pre-installed; the step users miss is completing the first-boot setup and activating the included Office 2024 licence before use.

When will the 64GB DDR5 memory or 4TB PCIe SSD need replacement?

The 64GB DDR5 and 4TB PCIe SSD are soldered or integrated with no user-accessible slots, so they are not designed for later replacement; only the battery is serviceable.
