An 18-inch WQXGA 240Hz gaming laptop with a 16-core Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 graphics, 16GB DDR5 and a 1TB PCIe SSD
The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU carrying 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. The system includes 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Home and targets users who want high refresh-rate visuals in a large portable form factor.
The laptop provides two USB4 Type-C ports, each supporting DisplayPort, G-SYNC and data speeds up to 40Gbps. One of those ports also handles power delivery. A single HDMI 2.1 FRL port is available for external displays. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a 3.5mm combo audio jack and an RJ45 LAN port round out the physical I/O. Wireless connectivity uses Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) triple-band 2x2 and Bluetooth 5.3.
Before ordering, verify that your USB-C chargers or docks can negotiate the required power profile over the USB4 port that supports power delivery. Confirm that any external monitor you plan to use can accept a signal over HDMI 2.1 FRL or DisplayPort via USB4 at the resolution and refresh rate you need. The system has no SD card reader, so plan for an alternative if you rely on that media.

The laptop ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory; if your workloads need more capacity you would need to add modules after purchase.
The 18 inch 2560 x 1600 screen refreshes at 240 Hz, so fast motion stays sharp provided the GPU can push high frame rates.
Each USB4 port runs at up to 40 Gbps and supports DisplayPort, power delivery and G-SYNC for external displays or docks.
