ROG Strix G815LP 18-inch gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G815LP-IS96 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory and a 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The system runs Windows 11 Pro and includes a 240Hz IPS WQXGA display.

240Hz WQXGA IPS panel limits

The 18-inch screen delivers a 2560x1600 resolution at a 240Hz refresh rate. That panel speed supports fast motion clarity in competitive titles. The IPS technology provides wide viewing angles. The 16:10 aspect ratio adds vertical space for productivity tasks.

RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 decides fit

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 comes with 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. That frame buffer size determines which texture settings and resolutions remain comfortable in modern games. Buyers targeting 1440p or 4K gaming should match this VRAM capacity to their workload.

Questions about this item

Will the 18.0 inch 2560x1600 240Hz IPS panel fit on a standard 17 inch laptop stand?

The chassis measures 11.75 IN x 17.25 IN x 1.4 IN so most 17 inch stands are too narrow; choose a stand rated for at least 18 inch devices.

Can the 32GB DDR5 SO-DIMM be upgraded later?

The unit ships with 32GB DDR5 SO-DIMM installed; the platform supports additional SO-DIMM slots for future expansion.

Does the Thunderbolt 4 port carry the RTX 5070 signal for an external GPU enclosure?

Thunderbolt 4 provides high-speed data and display output; the dedicated RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 drives the internal 240Hz panel and external displays via HDMI.
