ROG Strix SCAR 16 G635LX-XS97-HID14 identity

The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 16 G635LX-XS97-HID14 is a 16" gaming laptop built for users who need desktop-class throughput in a portable chassis. It pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU carrying 24 GB GDDR7 video memory. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro, 128 GB DDR5 5600 MHz memory and 4 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across two 2 TB modules.

Build integration and thermal headroom

The 13.94" x 10.55" x 0.90"–1.21" form factor fits standard 16" sleeves while the 6.28 lb weight remains manageable for daily transport. HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU, lowering sustained core temperatures so the 2.1 GHz base clock can hold higher boost states longer. The 240 Hz 2560 x 1600 Mini LED panel drives fast-paced titles without an external monitor, freeing desk space and reducing cable count.

Factory upgrades that change daily use

The dual 2 TB NVMe array delivers 4 TB of sequential throughput for game installs, video scratch disks and virtual machines without juggling external drives. Dual-channel 128 GB DDR5 5600 MHz eliminates paging in memory-heavy workloads such as 3D rendering or large dataset analysis. Pre-installed latest BIOS and validated drivers mean the laptop reaches stable operation immediately, skipping the typical first-boot update cycle.

Questions about this item

Will the 24-core Ultra 9-275HX hit its 5.5 GHz turbo ceiling under sustained load?

The 24-core Ultra 9-275HX reaches a max turbo frequency of 5.5 GHz with 36 MB cache, so thermal headroom will decide how long it stays there.

Does the Mini LED panel and dual TIM upgrade keep fan noise and surface temps in check during all-day sessions?

The 16-inch 2560 x 1600 240 Hz Mini LED display pairs with Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU for lower core temps under load.

Is the 4 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe array user-replaceable or must I keep the factory drives?

The 4 TB configuration uses two 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs, leaving no empty slot unless one drive is removed.
