Built for High-End Gaming and Creation

The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 16 G635LX-XS97-HID8 pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX 24-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card carrying 24 GB of GDDR7 memory. A 16-inch WQXGA Mini LED panel running at 240 Hz delivers sharp 2560 x 1600 visuals. The system ships with 64 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz RAM and a 16 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD array, all driven by Windows 11 Pro.

Thermal Upgrades and Compact Chassis

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal to the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme compound to the GPU, lowering peak temperatures under sustained loads. The Off Black chassis measures 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.90–1.21 inches and weighs 6.28 lbs, fitting the high-wattage silicon into a frame that still slides into a standard backpack. Every port and the per-key RGB keyboard are validated during a full functional check before the unit leaves the workshop.

Ready-to-Run Configuration

The dual 8 TB NVMe modules and matched 2 x 32 GB DDR5 sticks arrive pre-installed and stress-tested, eliminating the need for user assembly or driver hunting. BIOS firmware and driver stacks are updated to the latest stable revisions, and a burn-in cycle confirms thermal stability across CPU and GPU cores. Windows 11 Pro is activated and configured, so the machine boots straight to a clean desktop ready for immediate workloads.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the 16 TB storage run on and what practical throughput ceiling does that set?

The dual 8 TB M.2 drives use PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe, so sequential reads top out around 7 GB/s in real-world use.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and weight so I can confirm it fits my bag and desk space?

The laptop measures 13.94" wide, 10.55" deep, 0.90" to 1.21" high and weighs 6.28 lbs.

How is the liquid metal applied on the CPU and what common reinstall mistake should I avoid?

Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut is pre-applied between the CPU die and cold plate; if you ever reseat the cooler, clean both surfaces completely and apply a fresh thin layer — never reuse the old liquid metal.
