18-inch 2.5K 240Hz display

The 18-inch Mini LED panel runs at 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. Anti-glare coating keeps reflections low during long sessions. The tall 16:10 aspect ratio gives extra vertical space for code, timelines or maps. This screen targets competitive players and creators who need both speed and colour volume.

Core Ultra 9 275HX with RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7

The 24-core processor hits 5.4 GHz turbo across eight performance and sixteen efficient cores, backed by 36MB smart cache. 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD provide headroom for modern AAA titles at high settings and multi-app workflows. Heavy ray-traced loads at native resolution will eventually saturate the 16GB video buffer, so 4K ultra textures may need adjustment.

Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity

Two Thunderbolt 5 ports add DisplayPort, power delivery and G-SYNC support for external monitors or docks. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 and a 2.5GbE RJ45 jack cover legacy and high-speed wired needs. Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) triple-band and Bluetooth 5.4 replace older wireless standards, cutting latency for cloud gaming and peripheral swarms. The jump matters when you run multiple 240Hz externals or move large project files over the network.

Questions about this item

Will the 18" 2.5K 240Hz Mini LED display and Thunderbolt 5 ports work with my existing 1080p monitor and USB 3 devices?

The HDMI 2.1 output can drive an external 1080p panel at its native rate while the built-in 18" 2560 x 1600 240Hz Mini LED screen runs simultaneously. Thunderbolt 5 ports are backward-compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A devices through the three available Type-A ports or via adapter on the Thunderbolt 5 connectors.

How can I verify the Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 are performing correctly after setup?

Open Task Manager to confirm 24 cores (8P+16E) and 32GB DDR5 are detected, check that the GPU shows 16GB GDDR7 in the Performance tab, and run a benchmark or game to see the 240Hz panel and G-SYNC functioning.

What ships in the box and what must I purchase separately for the ROG Strix SCAR 18?

The laptop, power adapter, and documentation are included; the 1TB PCIe SSD and 32GB DDR5 are already installed. No SD card reader is built in, so add a USB reader if you need one, and consider a carrying case for the 6.28-pound chassis.
