ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 2.5K 240Hz

This 18-inch gaming laptop pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GDDR7 GPU. A 2560 x 1600 240Hz display drives high-refresh gameplay. The system ships with 32GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD under Windows 11 Home.

Best for competitive 18-inch play.

Buyers who want maximum screen real estate and 240Hz motion clarity at 2.5K resolution will match this hardware. The 6.28-pound chassis and 0.93-inch profile suit desk-bound sessions. Shoppers prioritising all-day battery life or sub-2kg carry weight should consider smaller form factors.

18-inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz panel decides fit

The display combines an 18.0-inch diagonal, 2560 x 1600 resolution and 240Hz refresh rate in one fixed specification. If your workflow or game library benefits from that exact combination of size, sharpness and speed, the laptop fits. If you need touch input, a different aspect ratio or a lower refresh panel, this screen rules the unit out.

Questions about this item

What does the Thunderbolt 5 interface on this ROG Strix Scar 18 actually cap in practice?

The two Thunderbolt 5 ports provide high-speed data, video and charging through a single cable, with bandwidth that handles demanding peripherals and external displays without bottlenecking the RTX 5070 Ti.

What physical space and mounting points does the 18.0 inch chassis need to fit in a bag or on a desk?

The laptop measures 15.71 x 11.73 x 0.93 inches and weighs 6.28 pounds, so a compartment rated for 18 inch devices and a sturdy flat surface are required.

How is the 512GB PCIe SSD installed, and what step do people often get wrong?

The drive slots into an internal M.2 connector after removing the bottom panel; the common mistake is not fully seating the screw, which leaves the drive loose and undetected.
